   Pixar Features Hesai Kosmo in Official 3D Gaussian Splatting Tutorial

   Pixar has published an official 3D rendering tutorial showing how its tools can process real-world 3D Gaussian Splatting data. According to QbitAI, the tutorial credits Hesai's Kosmo scanning solution for capturing scene geometry, lighting and other spatial elements used in the workflow.

   Hesai Launches Kosmo Spatial Data Stack

   Hesai has launched Kosmo, a spatial-data stack comprising the handheld Kosmo One 8K spatial camera, the Kosmo World cloud platform and the Kosmo Spatial Core reconstruction system. The products are intended to turn real environments into 3D data for embodied AI, world models, robot training and content creation. Hesai announced strategic partnerships with Galaxy General Robot and Origin Force Robotics, and an Amap collaboration, while presenting use cases involving RenderMan and Sharpa. Hesai says Kosmo One can scan a typical 100-square-meter indoor space in about 15 minutes. The cited reports present performance figures such as millimeter-level geometric accuracy, five-times model-generation speed and a 99% task-success rate as company claims and provide no independent verification.
