   Chinese internet giants order over 3 million Nvidia RTX PRO 5500 workstation GPUs

   cnBeta, citing Reuters, reports that three large Chinese internet companies together ordered more than 3 million Nvidia RTX PRO 5500 workstation GPUs, a potential order value above $35 billion at the roughly $11,400 list price. Total Chinese orders for the card are said to exceed 6 million units, while Nvidia has told partners that global 2027 output may not exceed 3 million and that it may eventually fill only 5% to 10% of ordered volumes. The report says buyers mainly intend the cards for AI inference, since Nvidia's Blackwell-based B300 cannot be sold in China and Hopper H200 requires case-by-case approval, and that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology asked some firms in late September to report planned purchases and uses. The article adds that demand has also lifted channel prices for the gaming-focused RTX 5090 above 50,000 yuan, and that large-scale performance of the RTX PRO 5500, listed on Nvidia's site only in September, still awaits validation.
