   Fitbit Air and Edge add insulin resistance and blood pressure trends

   Google has added insulin resistance and blood pressure trend features to the Fitbit Air and Fitbit Edge, expanding the devices beyond basic fitness and sleep tracking, according to ZDNET. The features are part of Google's "Health Guardian" suite for Pixel Watch and Fitbit and are available only to Google Health Premium subscribers, a $100 annual subscription that includes an AI health coach and advanced sleep tracking. Users who wear the device for at least five days will receive monthly insights in the app's Health tab. The insulin resistance feature uses a multimodal model to analyze biometric and metabolic patterns, including heart rate, activity and sleep, rather than directly measuring insulin or glucose. Google trained the model on data from other wearables and compiled demographic data, according to a paper in Nature.
