   XHEART raises strategic round with Renault, Chery and ChangXin Technology

   Citing multiple industry sources, 36Kr reported that physical-AI chip company XHEART has closed a strategic funding round, with Renault Group investing for the first time, Chery Automobile increasing its stake and ChangXin Technology also participating. The company, less than three years old, has now raised roughly 5 billion yuan in total, according to the report. Its main product, the X7, is a driving-assistance chip aimed at advanced urban assisted driving and L3/L4 autonomous driving, and is already used in some versions of the SAIC Volkswagen ID.ERA 9X and MG07, with the presale Roewe Jiayue 07 also confirmed to adopt it.

   Dongfeng Fengshen L8+ to launch Oct 23 with Momenta R7 world model

   IT之家, citing Yiche, reported that Dongfeng Fengshen's L8+ will go on sale on Oct 23. The report says the car uses the Tianyuan Smart Driving T800 system built on Momenta's R7 world model, paired with an Nvidia Thor-U chip rated at up to 700 TOPS and supporting urban and highway NOA. It is a plug-in hybrid combining a 1.5T engine with an electric motor, and features an embedded instrument cluster, a large floating center screen, 19-speaker WANOS audio and a rear entertainment screen. Dongfeng Fengshen bills the L8+ as aiming at the "strongest smart assisted driving product in its class," a vendor claim.

   Industrial Next unveils AI robot stations it says retool in minutes, partners with BMW

   At the Startup Battlefield stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, San Francisco startup Industrial Next presented self-contained robotic stations powered by proprietary foundation models that connect vision, task context and motion — which the company says lets a production line be retooled in minutes rather than weeks without traditional programming. The company announced it is partnering with BMW Group Technology Office to evaluate its AI-powered dexterous manipulation for manufacturing. Industrial Next says some of its workstations are already used to build a popular smartphone, handling tasks such as threading a delicate flex cable and snapping a tiny connector cap into place, and that a "film peeling" station strips protective film off camera modules and buttons at or above human speed with 100% accuracy even when moved to an unseen phone model and line. Founders Lukas Pankau and Allen Pan, both former Tesla employees, said the robots are taught through simulation and demonstration in a high-fidelity virtual environment rather than hard-coded scripts.

   Guanghe Ventures' Zhu Jia on investing up the AI stack from terminals to chips

   In an interview with Cyzone, Guanghe Ventures partner Zhu Jia described the firm's hard-tech method of starting from downstream end products and working upstream through the supply chain, citing investments in MetaX, Unitree Robotics, Zhipu AI, Hesai and Innolight. The article says the firm recorded 10 portfolio IPOs in the past 18 months and in April closed more than RMB 5 billion across two dual-currency funds. Zhu summed up his approach as backing the number-one player in any large细分 market, and said the team had already made early bets such as X Square Robot before embodied-AI valuations heated up; he also discussed slower-developing portfolio company Yunmai Xinlian.
