   AWS walks through agentic retrieval with LangChain on Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases

   An AWS Machine Learning Blog post demonstrates a RAG application that uses LangChain with Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Bases, comparing two retrieval paths. The standard Retrieve API runs a single hybrid search, while the AgenticRetrieveStream API runs a planning loop that splits a multi-part question into sub-queries, judges whether the evidence is sufficient, and searches again if it is not; with generate_response enabled it returns a grounded answer with citations. The post also covers the IAM permissions, relative costs and appropriate use cases for each path.
