   E-commerce Platforms Expand AI Tools for Singles’ Day

   Alibaba’s Qianwen Office launched an invite-only e-commerce edition on October 14, offering cross-platform dashboards, trend insights, marketing-material generation and ad optimization. JD and Douyin E-commerce are also expanding AI tools for merchants, while merchant interviews cited accuracy problems, limited workflow fit and restricted API access as adoption barriers.

   JD.com's 11.11: AI across 3,000 scenarios, digital humans serve 90,000 merchants

   At its October 15, 2026 JD 11.11 press conference, JD.com said its AI capabilities now cover more than 3,000 scenarios across retail, logistics, health, industrial, food delivery and home services, and billed the event as its 11.11 with the deepest AI application and broadest scenario coverage. For shoppers, JD App 16.0 upgraded the “Dongdong” AI shopping assistant and JoyAI App introduced an AI digital human that can shop via live video; for merchants, the Jingmai AI operations center opened dozens of AI tools and digital human JoyAvatar provided live-streaming services to more than 90,000 merchants during the campaign. In logistics, JD deployed its upgraded “Chao Nao” large model 3.0 and six new “Wolf Clan” products, claiming parcel-volume forecast accuracy above 94.2% and an adoption rate above 90.2% for AI-recommended optimal delivery routes.
