   Murata unit to invest ¥9bn in MLCC ceramic material line on AI demand

   Nikkei reported that Okayama Murata Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Murata Manufacturing, will invest about 9 billion yen to add a production line for the ceramic materials used in MLCCs and other electronic components, with construction starting in October 2026 and output due in April 2028. The report said MLCC demand is growing rapidly, led by AI servers in data centres. Okayama Murata did not disclose how much capacity the new line will add; Murata's Izumo subsidiary completed a new MLCC plant this spring and is also strengthening raw-material supply.
