   Kroger to cut 37% of corporate roles in three-year tech push

   Kroger plans to cut about 3,000 corporate roles over the next three years, roughly 37% of its 8,200 corporate employees, according to a memo CEO Greg Foran sent staff on Monday, 12 October. Foran cited simplification and technology as the two reasons, saying "technology is reshaping what's possible," though the memo does not specify how many roles AI will replace. Kroger outlined an AI strategy in September that includes demand forecasting, personalised savings, meal and cart planning tools and AI agents to help store teams prioritise daily tasks, plus AI training for more than 400,000 employees.
