   Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman pushes back on AI doomsday warnings

   At TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, Cerebras co-founder and CEO Andrew Feldman criticized the current wave of AI doomsday rhetoric, quipping that “some of the leaders in the AI world maybe shouldn’t be allowed to talk in public.” He argued that AI’s promise is being overlooked and that leaders should talk more about benefits such as a world where your grandkids “never meet anybody who dies of cancer,” while acknowledging that powerful technologies inevitably raise the risk of misuse and need reasonable regulation. He also said the data center industry had done a poor job engaging local communities in the U.S. in recent years, and said he was not worried that efficiency gains would reduce demand for chips.
