  1. Kazakhstan expands NVIDIA AI infrastructure and explores robotaxis

According to NVIDIA Blog, Firebird has secured a U.S. export license for 45,000 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs and is building its first phase in Kazakhstan with Kazakhtelecom. The project is under construction and targets commercial launch in the third quarter of 2027; a planned second phase could bring Firebird’s potential capacity in the country to approximately 500 megawatts. Kazakhtelecom has deployed 400 NVIDIA H200 and 480 NVIDIA B300 GPUs. NVIDIA also announced an investment in Kazakhstan-founded startup Higgsfield AI. Separately, inDrive and Pony.ai are assessing the feasibility of bringing Pony.ai’s seventh-generation robotaxis to the inDrive app in Astana, using NVIDIA infrastructure; deployment has not been confirmed.

  2. Nvidia's Huang says telecom base stations could become distributed AI networks

At Nvidia's GTC event in Berlin on October 21, CEO Jensen Huang said all telecom operators will eventually provide AI compute and that base stations could evolve into distributed AI networks. He said roughly 100,000 sites could form a distributed data-center network of about 100 gigawatts, and that after nearly eight years of development Nvidia and Nokia had completed a first commercial phone call on T-Mobile's network. Huang also repeated his five-layer "cake" model of AI—energy, chips, infrastructure, models and applications—and said building a 1-gigawatt data center currently costs about $50 billion, as reported by 36Kr and IT之家.
