   Windscribe changelog credits Anthropic's Fable 5 AI audit for security fixes

   TechRadar reports that Windscribe's changelog for release 2.33.11, deployed on July 6, 2026, says the update includes "app hardening from the Fable 5 audit," referring to an AI model from Anthropic. The listed items cover WireGuard key validation, Control D API key log redaction, IPC exposure hardening, safer logging, installer argument redaction and package/dependency handling fixes, alongside a Windows DLL planting patch and a Linux local privilege escalation fix. TechRadar says it is still waiting to hear back from Windscribe, and Surfshark CSO Tomas Stamulis told the outlet that formal audits still rely on independent human auditors such as Deloitte or Cure53.
