  1. Chroma ATE Draws Positive Analyst Ratings on AI Test Demand

Citi and Morgan Stanley assigned Buy and Outperform ratings to Chroma ATE after its Q3 briefing, setting target prices of NT$2,800 to NT$2,900. Chroma said its SLT revenue doubled year to date and expects CPU, LPU and ASIC inference-capacity expansion to drive testing demand from Q4 through the first half of next year. The company also reported securing its first CSP burn-in customer and expects to add an HPC customer next year.

  2. Chroma ATE reports 186% Q3 revenue growth and first production-stage CPO order

Chroma ATE reported third-quarter revenue of NT$17.9 billion, up 33% sequentially and 186% year over year, with net income of NT$5.647 billion and earnings per share of NT$13.34. The company said photonics-testing revenue quadrupled and system-level-testing revenue doubled. Chroma said Nvidia and Marvell had confirmed adoption of its Insertion 1 and Insertion 3 optical-engine manufacturing processes, and that it had received its first production-stage CPO order. The company also said the Insertion 3 production scale would be at least four to five times the pilot-stage scale, subject to initial capacity ramp-up and market demand.

  3. TrendForce: CPO bottleneck shifts to test speed; platform integration key

TrendForce research cited by TechNews says that as AI data centers drive demand for high-speed transmission, co-packaged optics (CPO) is moving toward mass production, making shorter test times and lower cost key issues. Optical alignment has been cut to seconds or sub-seconds, but a complete test of a single PIC can still exceed 100 seconds, shifting the mass-production bottleneck from alignment accuracy to test speed. CPO testing currently requires laser sources, optical switches, power meters and spectrum analyzers from dispersed suppliers, so unified software coordinating electrical and optical measurement, together with optical-path switching and multi-station sharing, is presented as the focus of test integration; TrendForce expects 2027 to be the key year for test-architecture convergence.
