   decomp.dev closes index and leaderboard, saying AI broke decompilation's community

   Game decompilation tracker decomp.dev is shutting down its public index and leaderboard, attributing the decision to generative AI's effect on how the decompilation community works. Its pseudonymous admin, Encounter, wrote that with the right guidance, human input and code review, AI can significantly speed up matching decompilation, but that AI-assisted forks "finishing" others' projects, rushed low-quality PC ports and a rush to "make number go up" have turned progress into a hollow numbers game. Coverage differs on scope: 404 Media described the site as shutting down, while Tom's Hardware and AIbase reported that the main index and new-project submissions are frozen, with existing project pages and history kept, the code not open source and no successor or shutdown date named.
