   China statistics bureau says 'AI Plus' action drove emerging-sector investment and exports

   On October 19, Wang Guanhua, spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics and head of its comprehensive statistics department, told a State Council Information Office briefing that the "AI Plus" initiative strongly drove investment and exports in emerging fields in the first three quarters. The bureau said AI adoption spurred upstream and downstream investment and capacity expansion, with first-three-quarter investment in electronic circuit manufacturing, integrated circuit manufacturing and information services up 58.7%, 14.2% and 20.2% respectively, while support under the "two new" policy helped lift equipment purchase investment by 9.7%. It added that exports of electronic components and wires and cables rose 70% and 25.3%, and that terminals such as AI glasses and intelligent bio-inspired robots are broadening global AI application scenarios.
