OpenAI releases 722 math manuscripts from unreleased frontier model

OpenAI published 722 mathematics manuscripts on GitHub on October 6, grouped into 372 result families, all produced by an unreleased internal frontier model. The company says the set covers hundreds of open questions, including a quasi-Riemann hypothesis result (a zero-free region up to real part 7/8), three-dimensional Kakeya maximal and four-dimensional Kakeya conjectures, the Unique Games Conjecture, BSD formulas, Hilbert's tenth problem over the rationals and the Hodge conjecture for CM abelian varieties. OpenAI says the average result used compute equivalent to roughly three hours of ChatGPT Pro thinking and provides Lean formalizations for about 235 of the 372 families, while acknowledging that not all manuscripts are formalized. The release follows advice from the independent AGMAI group and continues to stir unease among mathematicians.

Google Project Zero urges emergency mitigations before formal patches

Google Project Zero says software vendors should prepare emergency mitigation mechanisms for actively exploited vulnerabilities, rather than relying only on faster formal patches. It outlines four approaches: feature flags, input filtering, alternative update channels, and hotpatching, while noting that testing remains necessary.

Agency Agents ships a native desktop app for its agent roster

Agency Agents is a growing collection of AI agent personas that started from a Reddit thread and months of iteration, spanning engineering categories such as frontend, backend, DevOps, security and data, with each agent given its own identity, workflows and deliverables. The project now offers a native macOS, Linux and Windows app that browses the full roster and installs agents into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Qwen and Osaurus in one click, alongside script-based installs and auto-updates. The repo describes the agents as "production-ready," a claim that comes from the project itself rather than independent testing.

AWS outlines Agentic Value Model for justifying agentic automation

An AWS Machine Learning Blog post proposes an “Agentic Value Model” for building the business case for agentic automation, arguing that the RPA-era ROI formula (hours saved × loaded rate − build cost) misses exception handling, decision quality, and change resilience and maintenance economics. It lays out four value pools and stresses that every benefit needs a defined realization mechanism and an accountable owner. The post cites early deployments of Amazon Quick Automate: Kitsa reports 91% cost savings, 96% faster data acquisition and 96% coverage; dLocal says it automates up to 75% of merchant-compliance reviews in controlled evaluations; and Genpact reports cutting supply-chain disruption analysis from 2–3 days to minutes.

Qlik Answers scales grounded enterprise AI on Amazon Bedrock

In an AWS blog post, Qlik detailed the architecture behind Qlik Answers, its enterprise question-answering product: employees ask in natural language and get sourced answers drawn from knowledge bases, live analytics apps, glossary definitions or documents, across more than 40,000 customers and 11 Regions. The system is split into entry, routing, answer, specialist-agent, conversational-analytics, retrieval (Amazon OpenSearch Service) and model-access layers; model calls go through Qlik's own LLM gateway to Amazon Bedrock, with Bedrock Guardrails applying content filtering and contextual grounding validation to every request and response, and Amazon SageMaker AI hosting models not yet available in-Region. Qlik says that since February 2026 general availability its Discovery Agent has surfaced over 100,000 discoveries, that most Qlik Cloud accounts with agentic tools enabled keep using them, and that customer Lintech International saw 75% faster responses and up to 7 hours per week returned to managers — all figures reported by Qlik itself.

AWS tutorial: automating remediation after DevOps Agent investigations

An AWS Machine Learning Blog post walks through automating fixes after an AWS DevOps Agent investigation. Amazon EventBridge picks up the investigation-completed event, triggers an AWS Lambda Durable Function, and Amazon Bedrock proposes remediation actions drawn from a curated allowlist of purpose-built Lambda tools; read-only tools run autonomously while infrastructure-changing actions suspend for human approval. The demo scenario increases an undersized Lambda function timeout.

AWS playbook: six-week program turns non-engineers into AI agent builders

In an AWS Machine Learning Blog post, Amazon Web Services describes a six-week program that pairs non-engineering business staff with mentors and production-grade tools—Kiro, Amazon Bedrock, Strands Agents SDK and AWS Lambda agents—for about four hours a week, ending in a working prototype. A team of four customer-facing employees with no engineering background built WealthWise, a multi-agent financial advisory prototype with five agents (portfolio analysis, risk assessment, financial planning and more), a dual-server Node.js and Python Flask architecture, four DynamoDB tables and, the team says, sub-5-second responses for complex reasoning; it took first place in the demo judging. AWS reports that self-rated “strong or expert” understanding of agentic AI rose from 27% to 82% among participants, and readiness to identify AI opportunities from 41% to 85%.

Cornerstone cuts database diagnosis time 78% with Bedrock-based Orion AI

Cornerstone OnDemand's Enterprise DataOps team built Orion AI, a multi-agent system on Amazon Bedrock and AWS's open-source Strands Agents framework, using a hub-and-spoke topology in which a meta-orchestrator routes work to 13 domain-specific agents, including three SQL Server diagnostics agents. According to the AWS blog post, database diagnosis time fell from about 45 minutes to 10 minutes per incident (a 78% reduction), manual lifecycle steps dropped roughly 70%, SRE-to-data-team reporting lag went from 15 minutes to real time, and redundant alerts fell by a median of 65%. A three-person team delivered the system in six months on Amazon ECS, with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore providing cross-session memory.

Nebius, NVIDIA and Uber on squeezing more value from every unit of compute

At a panel hosted by The Information's AI Agenda Live, executives from Nebius, NVIDIA and Uber discussed how they are optimizing compute as agentic workflows threaten to multiply token consumption. Nebius CRO Marc Boroditsky said the company tailors optimizations in its Token Factory inference platform to each customer's goals—speed, reliability, quality or price—using techniques such as speculative decoding, where smaller models predict likely next tokens that a larger model verifies in bulk, tuned with the customer's own traffic. NVIDIA's Dion Harris pointed to a Dynamo feature that locates already-computed data in a cluster's KV cache so teams avoid recalculating it, while Uber infrastructure VP Mattie Toia said its token costs have stabilized despite growing agentic use, helped by caching pushed down to individual sub-agents and by giving engineers visibility into their own usage; Uber also built an internal "context graph" of roughly 24 million nodes that cut query times from 20 minutes to 30 seconds.

AI Animated Dramas Lower Production Costs, Not the Competition

AI tools are lowering the cost and speeding up production of animated short dramas, but they are also rapidly expanding supply and intensifying competition. The article argues that profitability still depends on story selection, script and storyboard decisions, distribution, cost control, and the ability to absorb failed projects; industry figures cited in the report suggest uneven returns across companies.

Fake ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude ads used in phishing to steal ad accounts

Security vendor Island published a report describing a phishing campaign in which attackers impersonate ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Manus and other major AI brands, advertising fake “AI marketing tools” that prompt agency staff, media buyers and manager-account admins to connect their Google account. Clicking “connect” launches a browser-in-the-browser (BitB) phishing page with a live human operator who fakes mistyped-password errors and chooses which MFA screen the victim sees, harvesting credentials and one-time codes. The lures target advertising accounts specifically because they carry stored payment methods, approved budgets and, for manager accounts, access to multiple client accounts; the campaign was still running and had not been disrupted when the researchers wrote the report.
