Google launches Playground, a no-code AI platform that turns prompts into games
Google on Oct. 7 introduced Playground, an experimental gaming platform where users describe a game in natural language and get a playable result without coding. It runs in the browser and, according to a Google spokesperson, is powered by Gemini, Nano Banana and Lyria plus custom software tuned on games Google built itself; creators can pick 2D or 3D and, for select genres, single- or multiplayer. Playground is available only to US users aged 18+, with creation access tiered by Google One membership, and games can be kept private, shared by link or published to the Explore gallery, which ranks by player ratings and activity. Google also said a future Unity Spark integration will add professional-level mechanics, high-fidelity 3D and the Unity runtime; Spark is in testing with a closed beta coming soon.
Musk says Grok Bot will use rival models including Claude Opus 5.5
Elon Musk said SpaceX's AI unit will no longer power Grok Bot only with in-house models, instead using "the best back end model for any given task," including Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 plus Midjourney and Suno APIs. Grok Bot is the agent app SpaceXAI launched in August for iPhone, iPad and Mac, where each Bot runs on its own computer and handles several tasks in parallel; Musk did not say which tasks go to which outside model. He also said SpaceXAI will be renamed SpaceXSI, and Anthropic became a SpaceX compute customer earlier this year.
Common Sense Media rates ChatGPT for Teens an “unacceptable risk”
Common Sense Media’s Youth AI Safety Institute rated OpenAI’s ChatGPT for Teens an “unacceptable risk,” citing unreliable parental alerts, gaps in crisis support, and a tendency to provide students with completed homework answers. OpenAI disputed the assessment, arguing that much of the testing may have occurred before parental controls were fully activated; Common Sense Media said its results still stand, including for accounts tested beyond the activation window.

Roughly a month after its iPhone debut, Meta's Muse agentic AI app now natively supports iPad, making better use of the larger screen and iPadOS multitasking. The update also adds connectors such as Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo and Zoom, plus everyday tools like Granola and Notion, and lets users give Muse a business goal that it plans out autonomously with approval. Muse is free on the App Store and had spent several weeks as the top free iPhone app in the U.S., per 9to5Mac and The Verge.
Meta Muse passes 6.6M downloads, 1.8M daily users since Sept. 8 launch
Citing Sensor Tower VP of Insights Seema Shah, Bloomberg Technology reported that Meta's Muse has topped 6.6 million downloads since its Sept. 8 launch and reached 1.8 million daily active users. The segment frames this as evidence that consumers are ready to hand over personal information in exchange for AI assistance, and also discusses Zuckerberg's Muse and the wider AI market.
OpenAI upgrades ChatGPT plugins with MCP event automation
At OpenAI DevDay 2026, OpenAI announced an upgrade to ChatGPT plugin extensions: developers can build in-app experiences in ChatGPT, give plugins a dedicated sidebar entry, build interactive panels for working alongside a conversation, or create viewers for supported file types, with plugin-building tools and a redesigned submission flow; OpenAI is also improving how plugins are sorted and recommended in the directory and in conversations, while users keep control over which plugins to use and approve access individually. Business, Enterprise, healthcare, and Education plans can connect supported ChatGPT plugins to a self-built site, letting team members sign in to the same app with their own permissions and their own connected data, and adding and managing automations has been simplified. OpenAI also said it is adding support for the proposed MCP event spec, so plugins can start automations when events occur in connected apps—for example, watching a project board for new tasks and drafting a plan from linked documents.
Microsoft and Nvidia to unveil Surface Laptop Ultra for local AI

NVIDIA DSX Air pairs digital twins with AI agents to validate AI factory changes
An NVIDIA technical blog describes using the node-based NVIDIA DSX Air digital twin to validate supported configurations and software integrations for AI factories before hardware arrives. Agents can query the twin, run configuration, security and compliance checks, compare results against organizational policy and return evidence-backed recommendations inside a governed automation loop with human-in-the-loop gates. NVIDIA Brev supplies on-demand GPU compute attached to the twin, and the NVIDIA AI Blueprint for Video Search and Summarization is used as an example of agent-orchestrated video analysis, retrieval-augmented knowledge and report generation routed to systems such as Jira.
OpenAI launches Decisions API offering ~10x faster evaluations, trims API tiers to three
OpenAI announced the Decisions API on its API platform, which evaluates text, images or both and is said to run about ten times faster than the Responses API. It is in public beta and currently supports only gpt-6-luna, priced at $0.10 per million input tokens with output tokens free, returning yes/no probabilities, picks from predefined categories, or scale-based ratings. OpenAI also cut its paid API tiers from five to three—Build, Launch and Grow—with monthly usage limits of $500, $5,000 and $200,000.
Google prepares Antigravity for Gemini 4 Argon and a Concierge voice agent
TestingCatalog spotted new labels in Google's Antigravity coding app around usage limits, subscription tiers and prompts to upgrade to Google AI Ultra, plus UTM links carrying an "argon_model_selector" campaign parameter — suggesting Ultra subscribers may get Gemini 4 Argon first. Per Google's September 30 announcement, Argon already powers internal workflows and reportedly scores 77.9% on DeepSWE v1.1 for longer software-engineering tasks, with rollout starting from trusted cyber defenders to paid API customers and Ultra subscribers. Also found in development: an internal agent prototype called Concierge with real-time voice, an Auto mode that may reduce permission prompts, and UI skins — none with a confirmed release timeline.
Kore.ai launches Autoloop to keep optimizing enterprise AI agents after go-live
Kore.ai introduced Autoloop, an optimization engine for agents built on its Kore.ai Agent Platform: customers set goals such as task completion, adherence to business rules, cost and accuracy, and Autoloop adjusts the agents automatically, including after deployment. It drafts each agent from a company's existing operating procedures, then uses Kore.ai's StateTrace evaluation layer to spot goal misses against the full production record and Agent Blueprint Language to rewrite only the responsible part. Autoloop is available now to customers on the platform's Artemis edition.
Cisco brings Dialog agentic framework to Webex enterprise platform
Cisco is updating its Webex cloud collaboration platform with a new "agentic harness" called Dialog, which it says directs multiple AI agents to handle customer interactions and keep working on the customer's behalf after a conversation ends, coordinating across people, agents and backend systems. The refreshed Webex also lets workspace members invite AI agents directly into spaces, meetings and calls to execute multi-step tasks, such as pulling up statistics during a presentation and updating a PowerPoint live. Cisco says it is working with data analytics company Splunk for a safety-forward experience, though these capabilities and reliability claims are not independently verified.
